Bee Keeping

We finally got our bee's started. We currently have two hives that seem to be doing very well.
It was a little nerve racking getting started but once we introduced our new bee's to their new home, the anxiety mostly dissipated.
They have already started building comb and making themselves right at home.

TP, anxious to see how that goes, wife wants bees, we have 3 grandsons right now who visit, 4, 5, and 6.

Told her if she does this, has to buy me a suit too, so I can come in and save her ass if need bee, ha.

The grandsons will just have to be taught about the bee's so as not to get stung. Ours aren't aggressive at all as of right now.
You really don't need a whole suit. I bought a helmet with face screen. I put on a thick denim shirt and jeans with rubber dish washing gloves. Haven't been stung yet.

well, we can put the bees to bed. Saturday Memorial weekend, we were down at the gun range behind the house, she got stung by a red wasp and had a severe reaction, spent several hours at the hospital and now has to keep an eppy pen with her. no bees!

Wow, what a way to find out. That stinks.

Yea, but glad we found out here, instead of an hour back in the woods, huh admin.
